off to a new home : a glimpe at the summer art sales

All of these paintings and drawings found a new home this summer. I am so glad they are out in the world and brightening someone's day.

It also means I have space to paint some more!

Chardonnay Cluster - new small oil painting

Chardonnay Cluster | oil painting | 7x5"

I realized that although I have painted a lot of red grapes recently, I have never tried to paint green grapes. This is almost certainly because I rarely eat them, and they are not hanging out in the fruit bowl waiting to be admired and inspirational.

So this will be the first of a few green grape studies...are they green or white grapes?

Orange Blossom at Sparta, NJ

This was one of those found still life arrangements. I had just finished my lunchtime orange, scrunched up the napkin and added it to the bowl to throw away, when *CLICK* I spy a painting.

Orange Blossom | 18x18" | oil on canvas, unframed

This painting will be for sale at the fundraiser for Hilltop Country Day School, which will also have a large selection of paintings, drawings, photography, clothing, jewelry,  glass and ceramics for sale. Plus you get to drive through the swooping vistas of Rt23, whilst admiring the ripening fall foliage.
(no photography whilst driving please!)

Real Life - Still Life, art show in West Orange NJ

Real Life - Still Life will showcase (literally) a large selection of my small oil paintings in a four month exhibition at the West Orange JCC this fall.
The exhibition lasts until January, which pretty much covers all your upcoming holidays. So you can find something special to freshen up the Thanksgiving dining room, splash out on a gift for your significant other... or just treat yourself to something sweet.

Stop by and say Howdy at the opening reception on September 7th 11-1pm
